REACHA  through its coding platform -  Kojo  - Made in India, is taking core coding concepts and computational thinking to schools and students that come from remote background. Through, Kojo - REACHA aims to upskill teachers around India in coding concepts, so they can better teach these to students. Also, take coding to students all around so they can develop core skills like critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving etc. that are also in line with National Education Policy 2020. Goal is to equip students and youth with skills that can further help them in becoming future entrepreneurs. Kojo is built on top of Scala and it offers various rich areas of programming like Generative Art, Animations, Simulations, Games, AI, Electronics and robotics. Scala is the arguably one of the best language currently out there to learn fundamental concepts in computing and programming. REACHA  team participated in the Job Fair organized by  UPSDM IT  (Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission,  Government of UP ) on 17 August 2024 held at Ambedkar Nagar. The effort was as part of Access to Opportunity under  IBM 's SkillsBuild Program. Candidates were also briefed about the SkillsBuild Program, and how they can take up courses and learning on it. Placement partner Jeevitam supported the team at the event.  Chief Guest for the event - Shri Yogi Adityanath - Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, interacted with REACHA team to understand the program.  UPSDM, MD also encouraged and supported the team.  This effort comes under the larger partnership that IBM has with UPSDM, Government of Uttar Pradesh with REACHA as Implementation Partner to take up SkillsBuild Program across training centers of all 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh. SkillsBuild courses are being taught to students who come to these centers. A lot of these students belong from very rural areas of Uttar Pradesh.

Imperial Auto Industries  supported ITI Students Upskilling Project Update -  Project team is focusing on ITI Alumni students and is helping them get ready for workplace. Computer classes are also underway for the students, in which to begin with they are learning MS Office - making reports etc. which would help them as they enter workforce.  Trainer is also conducting one on one mock interview exercise with the students.  Students also celebrated Independence Day at the Imperial Auto supported Center.  Some snapshots from the center.

Trainees of  IIFL (India Infoline Group)  Foundation supported Retail and Hospitality Projects hosted a vibrant Tiranga Walk. The event commenced at Sheikh ul Alam Complex and concluded at Roshan Mustaqbal Kupwara. This walk promoted unity and patriotism. Every trainee engaged enthusiastically in the celebrations! 🇮🇳✨ Also a design from Chef Javed carved on watermelon for Independence Day.  The above happened at Kupwara, which is close to the borders and is a tough terrain. It is also an Aspirational District as classified by  NITI Aayog Official .  Training Programs with support of IIFL Foundation in Kashmir (since 2+ years) under guidance of  Indian Army  have been upskilling the youth, providing them with livelihood enhancement opportunities and at the same time also instilling a sense of national pride in them.  Ministry Of Home Affairs (mha), GOI   Ministry Of Corporate Affairs REACHA is grateful to IIFL Foundation and Indian Army and all its project team for the above and looks forward to continue to strengthen Kashmir!

IIFL (India Infoline Group)  Foundation supported Homestay Host Training Program, implemented by  REACHA  with support of  NATIONAL CADET CORPS - India  at  Indira Gandhi Government College, Tezu  Arunachal Pradesh. Week of 5th August 2024 - Industry Exposure Visit; Key updates -  Homestay Host trainees and staff visited Hotel Kinnara, in Namsai. The students explored hotel's amenities and picturesque surroundings, gaining valuable insights of hospitality industry's standards and practices. Housekeeping supervisor provided detailed information on housekeeping department, explaining their responsibilities such as cleaning, maintaining guest rooms, public areas, ensuring high standards of hygiene. F&B supervisor shared insights into the Food and Beverage department, outlining their key functions such as managing dining services, coordinating with kitchen staff, and ensuring high-quality service for guests. Front Office (FO) supervisor provided an overview of department's roles, which include managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and addressing guest inquiries and issues. They explained how the FO team ensures smooth daily operations, coordinates with other departments, and maintains high standards of guest service. Team REACHA thanks Mr. Propal Gogoi, General Manager, Namsai for hosting the students and staff and for explaining the role of each Department in great detail. Entire emphasis was on welcoming and creating comfortable environment for the guest.  We thank  IIFL (India Infoline Group)  Foundation to make all the above possible. The trainees come from remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh and this program and such exposure is helping them to widen their horizons a lot.

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL)  supported Hospitality Chef Bakery and Food and Beverage Training Program implemented by  REACHA  under supervision of  Indian Army  at Boniyar, Kashmir.  Classes and Practical are underway and students are going through  Tata STRIVE  market aligned curriculum. Communication Skills, Personality Development, Computer Skills are a major part of this program.  This program comes in towards meeting the requirement of skilled staff that is coming up due to increase in tourism activity in Kashmir.  The program is also helping to give students direction in life and giving them an opportunity to get meaningfully engaged and be able to earn a livelihood.  The staff visited Taj hotel in Srinagar to explore internship opportunities and market guidance for the students on 7 August 2028.

IIFL (India Infoline Group)  Foundation Retail Training Project, Kupwara, Kashmir under guidance of  Indian Army , implemented by  REACHA .  Key July Updates -  Certification Ceremony for Batch 3 students was conducted. Students were motivated by trainees who have earlier gotten placed after the completion of program. The assessment was done by  Retailers Association's Skill Council of India (RASCI) . Trainees from the Retail Training have successfully secured jobs in Gannderbal and Kupwara. Wazir Ahmad Pir was selected as a salesman at Alpha Wood Hardware Store in Kupwara, while Danish Ahmad was selected as staff in Ganderbal. (Picture 2) Poster created by trainees on World Youth Skill Day on 15th July 2024. (Picture 3) Mobilization of current and new batch in areas like - Kralpora, Handwara, Budkoot, Baikhaakr, Gulgam Cherwari, Mirnag, Manzhar, Alachizab etc. is underway. On ground project team is motivated to find opportunities for trainees who have completed the program. The team is also continuing to hand hold students post the placement. Program is allowing the trainees to get skilled and engage meaningfully post the training to earn a livelihood for themselves and also support their families.

The team met with college heads and faculties of colleges in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Planning is being done how these youth can benefit through the SkillsBuild Courses.  Uttarakhand efforts are part of the UCOST partnership (Uttarakhand Council of Science of Technology), Government of Uttarakhand. The team met with Mission Director, UPSDM, Government of Uttar Pradesh to discuss the rollout of program in FY 2024-25.  Meeting with faculties of colleges in Madhya Pradesh to discuss the rollout of SkillsBuild

Pictures from the exposure visit of the students to Shalimar Bagh Mughal Garden in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Students are learning about the history of Kashmir, skills needed to be a tourist guide / be in tourism industry, communications skills through market aligned training. Exposure visits are an integral part of the project, as these enable to give the trainees a wider perspective on how things operate outside of their homes, and also gives them ideas on career opportunities. Trainees also make detailed notes of their observations and share the same with peers.

REACHA HQ team is in Tezu with the project team and is working on placement opportunities / career guidance for the current/pass out trainees. The team met Dr. Mohesh Chai - Hon'ble MLA, Tezu  Advisor to Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Arunachal Pradesh to discuss about the program and seek his guidance towards creating more opportunities for our trainees. He has also acknowledged the project's efforts. Team also visited DC office to share progress and seek his guidance  Team continues to counsel and motivate the students as they complete the training with placement opportunities.  REACHA team have frequent check in calls with our placed trainees in Manali, Darjeeling and Mussoorie. They are also coming on board to talk to our other trainees and share their experiences with them and motivate them.  The team is also conducting additional personality development and communication classes for the trainees to increase their confidence, and speaking abilities - which is a must in the homestay/hospitality industry.

Genpact CSR Team and Strings of Baramulla from our Music Project in Kashmir got together in Delhi to produce music.  These students have been trained through Arts and Culture project at Chinar Yuva Club in Baramulla. After the training, they have been able to generate their livelihood through performing at events. Genpact CSR has supported these students through cell for livelihood enhancement under guidance of Indian Army with REACHA as implementation partner.
