Kvk & 64 Bn BSF in collaboration with Smartpur Pulwama conducted One-Week Skill Development Training Programme on Vermicomposting KVK Pulwama

The programme aims to build practical skills among participants on scientific vermicompost production as a sustainable and eco-friendly waste management and soil health improvement practice.
The inaugural session was attended by the Commandant, 64 Bn BSF, along with other senior officers of BSF, Prof. & Head and other scientists from KVK/ETC Malangpora Pulwama. Addressing the beneficiaries of REACHA. the dignitaries highlighted the importance of vermicomposting in improving soil fertility, recycling organic waste, and supporting organic and sustainable farming systems.
The training was focused on hands-on exposure to the selection of raw materials, earthworm species, bed preparation, maintenance, harvesting, and quality control of vermicompost, along with its economic and environmental benefits. Experts from KVK Pulwama will also apprise the participants about entrepreneurship opportunities and income generation through vermicomposting.
