Centre Name – Roshan Mustaqbil KupwaraBreaking Barriers – The Journey of Ronak Jaan

Ronak Jaan, daughter of retired Army Officer Gh. Amhad Sofi from Sophipora, stands today as a shinning example of courage, resilience and empowerment. Coming from a humble background in a conservative community. Ronak always dreamed of becoming independent and supporting her family. However, in a neighbourhood where girls rarely step out of their hometowns for education or work, her aspirations seemed far from reach.

Ronak’s life began to change when she became a part of the The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) Supported Training at Roshan Mustaqbil Kupwara, under guidance of Indian Army with REACHA as implementation partner. Through the initiative, she found not only skill development but also mentorship, guidance, and the confidence to believe in herself. The trainers at REACHA recognized her potential and continuously motivated her to push beyond her comfort zone. With each passing day, Ronak worked hard to improve her communication skills, professionalism, and overall confidence, qualities essential for a successful career in the hospitality sector.

Her perseverance soon bore fruit. After completing her training, Ronak secured employment at Amazonia Myster Villa, Mahabaleshwar, as a Front Office Associate, a moment that marked a turning point in her life. She became the first girl from Sohipora Village and the first trainee from the centre to work outside Kashmir, breaking long standing social barriers.

The journey has not been easy. Moving to a new state, adapting to a new environment, and working in a professional setup came with challenges. But Ronak faced them with determination, providing that no dream is too big when one has the courage to chase it. Her success became a source of pride not only for her family but also for her entire community. She showed everyone that with proper training, family support, and inner strength, women can achieve financial independence and professional success.

Today, Ronak earns over Rs. 15,000 per month and manages her role with confidence and dignity. She lives independently, sets an example of self-resilience, and continues to inspire other young girls to step forward and explore opportunities beyond traditional boundaries. Her journey stands as a testament to the power of education, training, and empowerment.

Thanks to the unwavering support and guidance of IHCL, Indian Army and REACHA, Ronak’s story is no longer just her own, it is a story of transformation for her entire community. She has proven that when opportunity meets determination, barriers can be broken and new paths can be created. Ronak Jaan is living proof that empowerment begins with courage and that true success lies in inspiring others to dream beyond limits.
