Team followed up with Mr. Dilip Kumar Taye, whose farmland in the flood-prone Brahmaputra plains (Dhemaji, Assam) had become unproductive due to heavy siltation. With support from the Assam's Nokia Smartpur team and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dilip received training in horticulture practices including soil management, pest control, and post-harvest handling under Smartpur project. Applying this knowledge, he improved his farming methods, introduced new fruit and vegetable varieties, and learned techniques to separate sand from soil. Currently, he is practicing multiple cropping in an integrated system that includes paddy, betel nut, banana, pineapple, black pepper, pig farming, and fish farming. By adopting scientific methods, Dilip has achieved higher yields, enhanced resilience to floods, and now earns a significantly improved livelihood.
